ZIPLINE IN PIVA, RAFTING ON TARA AND RIDING ON DURMITOR

ITINERARY

DAY 1
ZIPLINE OVER THE PIVA LAKE - Fly the longest zipline in Montenegro!

Meet our zipline instructors between 3 pm - 4 pm in the Guesthouse Eko Piva in Plužine. Refresh yourself in the restaurant as right after briefing and equipping you will be ready to take the first zip over the grandiose Piva Lake. On the other side of the lake, our instructor will be waiting for you. Take a short break, make some good photos, and then grip the handles of another zipline to the final destination - the Big Bridge on the Piva Lake.

Continue the adventure with another zip line all the way to your final destination, right next to the Big Bridge on Piva Lake. If you do not want to take a 5-minute walk back to the Guesthouse, our driver will take you back to the starting location by car in just a few minutes.

The whole adventure takes about 25 minutes.

The total length of the zip line is 1400 meters, which makes it the longest in Montenegro. The maximum flight speed is 65 km / h.

Walk through Plužine or continue your journey an additional 20 km to the Waterfall Rafting Center. Accommodate yourself in a bungalow and join us for dinner at the restaurant. Since our guests come from different places, we usually serve dinner between 20 - 21.30, but if you want we can prepare it earlier for your family. Enjoy by the campfire with your family, play some social games, or darts, badminton or ping pong...

Spend the night in one of our riverside cabins.

DAY 2
TARA RIVER RAFTING

Raft Trip on the Tara River Winds its way through 18 fun-filled kilometers of beautiful scenery and tumbling white-water on the most exciting rapids from Brstanovica to Scepan Polje.

09.00 am – Start your day with a delicious buffet breakfast in the Waterfall Restaurant. Play some badminton or table tennis, Picado, or just chill out next to the river till 11.00 am when the pre-trip briefing is held by your trip leader. This will cover what to bring and what not to bring on the raft. We have waterproof safety bags on every raft and you can take your mobile phones and cameras with you. You'll get an appropriate wetsuit and boots, a life jacket, helmet, and paddle and then you are ready for short but scenic driving with a terrain vehicle to Brstanovica, the starting point of rafting.

Your guides will fit your river equipment to ensure safety, give you a very detailed safety talk and show you how to sit in the raft and how to paddle. This trip starts off at a slower pace, just great for warming up practicing your paddling skills, and getting ready for bigger rapids.

Soon you will be getting wet, screaming with excitement, paddling as well as laughing your way down rapids like Borovi, Varda, Celije, Vjernovića rapid... with stops at the most beautiful places, suitable for rest, camera shooting, swimming...

A tasty lunch back at the Waterfall Rafting Centre completes your unforgettable Tara River rafting trip.

16.00 h - Lunch - Our chef always prepares opulent lunch starting with delicious soups or cream soups and excellent quality meat chocked full of fresh veggies and spiced with various herbs, as well as seasonal salad and dessert.

Enjoy free time walking; sunbathing or playing some social games with your family in our Centre.

20:00 -21:30 pm - Dinner time - Your day in the sun winds down with freshly grilled local specialties cevapi, pljeskavica, raznjici, musaka or different kinds of pasta with veggies or mushrooms, fresh cheeses, rice, and chips, while fresh salads and pastries complement the menu. All you have to do is sit back, relax and eat…  We make a campfire every evening, but if you would like to start it on your own just let us know and we'll provide everything you need for it:) Meet alike minded people and chill out with your family.

Overnight stay in the cabins.

DAY 3
HORSEBACK RIDING ON TRSA

Saddle up and begin your adventure searching for the best view and majestic scenery of incredible surroundings from the Village Trsa to the viewpoint of the Canyon Susica.

Your third day of adventure begins at 9:00 am with a hearty breakfast before taking about 40 minutes drive, right to the Village Trsa (1.450 m) where our horseback riding tour starts. This area is a real paradise for horse riding and wherever you look, the stunning landscape will leave you speechless.

Depending on your riding skills, our young but experienced guide can provide basic riding techniques, or simply ride with you showing you the best viewpoints if you are an experienced rider. Up to 2 hours of riding are included in the program, but if you would like to do some extra riding, just inform us on time.

After finishing riding, you can order full lunch in the Ethno Restaurant Trsa, or go back to the Waterfall Rafting Centre. If you are heading towards Zabljak we can organize your family lunch in the Ethno Restaurant in the city of Zabljak.

You'll leave with memories of the beautiful scenery and thrilling white water rapids, feeling fully relaxed and invigorated, and quality time spent with family and friends wanting to come back again. Oh, and your kids will be thanking you for the most amazing adventure vacation yet!

FAQ

You’ve got questions and we’ve got answers. Take a look at the most commonly asked questions that we receive from our guests. If you don’t see an answer to the question feel free to give us a call via Viber, WhatsApp, or Messenger at +382 69 310 848 or email us at [email protected]

WILL I GET WET?

Yes – but you will be in a wetsuit and booties. White water rafting is a great activity for rainy days as you are going to be wet anyway!

WHAT SHOES SHOULD I WEAR?

We provide complete and professional rafting equipment including wetsuits and booties, life jackets and helmets, as well as anoraks for rainy occasions. So you can wear your normal shoes and clothes to get to the rafting base.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

You should bring a swimming suit and suntan lotion, sunglasses and warm clothes for chilly evenings next to the campfire if staying overnight in the Waterfall Center.

DO I HAVE TO BE ABLE TO SWIM?

In the springtime when the river is high, it is recommended that you be able to swim. In the summertime when the river is lower you do not have to be a swimmer at all. Just make sure to let your guide know of your comfort level and swimming ability. Anyway, safety west is obligatory and you should follow instructions provided by the river guide. No one falls down from the boat, unless by purpose.

DO PEOPLE FALL OUT OF THE BOAT?

We take your safety seriously. Every trip starts with a full safety briefing and paddle instruction. Our boats are equipped with perimeter and center lines to give you ample places to hang on and stay in the boat. There is some risk in whitewater rafting, however, but it is rare that people fall out of the boat. In the case that they do – they are retrieved quickly using the drills that are taught in the safety briefing. In the spring with the higher water levels, there is a greater potential for things to happen. High water is definitely not for everyone.

WHAT IF THE WEATHER IS BAD?

Our trips leave as scheduled, rain, or shine. In the event of extreme weather conditions, we do reserve the right to alter your trip.

WHEN RAFTING SEASON STARTS?

Our season starts 1st of May and runs till October 1st. May and early June are defined by higher water flows and attract more adventuresome groups. In July and August water levels typically drop and conditions become perfect for younger families and multi-generational groups.

WHAT ARE THE AGE LIMITS FOR RAFTING?

We encourage everyone, young and old, fit or a couch potato, to experience the fun of white water rafting and hope that you will learn to love this sport as much as we do. From July – October, we hosted children 4 years old but also people in the late seventies.

WHAT IF I HAVE NEVER BEEN ON RAFTING BEFORE?

Most of our guests have never been on rafting before. All our trips are adapted for newcomers.

IS RAFTING SAFE ADVENTURE?

We are proud to be one of the pioneers of Rafting on the Tara River. Since 2000, our skippers have rafted with over 50 000 guests with not a single accident. Rafting is thrilling, exciting, wet, wild, and unbelievably fun. However, as with all adventure sports, there is inherent...

ARE THERE ANY ADDITIONAL CHARGES?

All Taxes and River Access fees are included in our base price. Rafting guides and waiters gratuities are not included in the trip price and are greatly appreciated.

DO YOU OFFER GROUP DISCOUNTS?

Of course, when it comes to rafting the Tara River, the more people you bring the more fun you will have! We offer some of the best group discounts on the river! Please check out our Groups page for more information.

CAN I BRING MY CAMERA?

We recommend that cameras are left behind at the Waterfall center as we cannot guarantee their safety against damage even if waterproof. However, if you would still like to take a camera on the rafting trip, we have waterproof safety bags on every raft where you can store them during the rapids and use them during breaks.

CAN I WEAR SUNGLASSES/ PRESCRIPTION GLASSES OR CONTACT LENSES?

Yes, you can, however, we do recommend a sports strap or tie for glasses. Once again remember we can’t guarantee the safety of your glasses. So if you can do it without it then do.

HOW MANY PEOPLE GO IN A RAFT?

All of our rafts can comfortably accommodate 8 guests + river guide.

ARE GRATUITIES ACCEPTABLE?

Absolutely. If your guides contributed to your enjoyment of the day please give them a tip!  Gratuities for guides are acceptable and greatly appreciated. And we’d love to hear about it as well. Our guides are some of the most important people of our staff and we want to know when they are doing a great job.

CAN WE PURCHASE SOUVENIRS?

Absolutely! We have a Gift shop stocked with a wide variety of specially designed T-shirts, rucksacks, hats, etc….come on in!

ARE RESERVATIONS REQUIRED?

Yes. Reservations are required and a 20% advance payment must be received prior to the date of your adventure. Same-day reservations are accepted based on availability, so please book online or send us an email.

WHAT SETS WATERFALL RAFTING CENTER APART FROM THE REST?

Everything! This might sound like a bold statement, but we encourage you to do some research on other outfitters in the Tara River Canyon and throughout the region. As the leaders in white water hospitality, we are dedicated to making sure that each of our guests feels welcome, wanted, and comfortable throughout their entire experience with us. From our highly trained professional staff to our top-of-the-line equipment for your safety and comfort, and everything in-between we can show you the rapids of the mighty Tara River like no one else!

FAQ for the zipline

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

It takes approximately 25 minutes.

WHAT ARE THE AGE AND BODYWEIGHT RESTRICTIONS?

  •    Minimum age 5 years
  •    Children from 5 - 12 years fly in tandem zipping with our guide
  •    Minimum weight 40 kg to fly alone
  •    Maximum weight 130 kg (including tandem zips with children)
  •    Children and young people can join a zip line adventure on their own from the age of 12 if accompanied by parents or having a parental agreement.

FITNESS / DISABILITIES

You do not need to be an athlete to zip. As long as you are physically and mentally fit you can go zipping. If you can handle a walk and then climb a two-meter ladder, you are fit to zip. If you have some type of disability, please feel free to contact us. We always try to find a solution to enable as many people as possible to join our adventures.

WHAT IF I AM PREGNANT?
We don’t recommend pregnant women go zipping. Please consult a medical expert before you make a reservation for the zip line adventure.

CAN I BRING MY CAMERA AND/OR MOBILE PHONE?
Yes, you can take a camera and/or a mobile with you but you are responsible for it. The company does not pay for loss or damage.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE WEATHER IS BAD?
The saying 'There is no bad weather, only bad clothing' applies to us. To zip in the rain is actually quite fun and could be a highlight if you are dressed correctly. Feeling the rain whipping against your face as you zip along high above the ground is actually very pleasant.

We don't cancel a departure because of ordinary rainy weather. We do cancel adventures in the event of a rainstorm or thunderstorm. In that case, you will get your money back.
